Dear Neil, Have a very Happy Birthday, enjoy every moment, would love to be there with you on this great occasion. Remember 60 is the new 40 or so I like to think!!!!!, Hey, just have a great time, lots of love from us both , Dad & Margaret

Happy Birthday from Ron & Trish Davidson

“A very badly written poem for a very special cussie bro.”Since just a kid, I’ve always looked up to my ‘cussie’ Neil. And it feels that now is as good a time as any to tell him how I feel. This 60th blog is just the thing to help me have my say; “Hey, you’ll never meet a nicer bloke, than our birthday boy today!”We ‘jumped the ditch’ in ’84 to try our luck in Oz.And like four stray sheep without a flock, we felt a little lost, Well it was Neil back then who stepped right up and took us in his care, He’s still the same kind fella today – but with just a little less hair.He embraced us as part of his family and included us in all that they did. He fell over himself with generosity, helping out this poor Kiwi kid.We were invited to many barbies and were lucky to meet all their friends. If you were anywhere near “Wardy”, the fun would never end.A family picnic at Manly Dam or the Sailing Club for the odd beer, Neil was always the greatest host and a lot of fun to be near.He introduced us to the Mosman Rowers, even wrangling us membership. And Rugby Club lunches were legendary (but sorry, that requires censorship). As Rugby Club Manager your footy test seats were always a really big hit, even if it was the middle of a sea of green and gold that you made us Kiwis sit!But I knew I was accepted as more than just a cousin and now a true friend, when the day I arrived at Neil’s place and he said “Hi guys, come on in – oh and if you want a drink, you can bloody well get it yourself.”Well there is so much water now under the bridge (not to mention hair down the drain), but I am privileged to have Neil as a mate and hope that always remains. In Sean he’s mighty proud and he’s in good hands with the lovely Kathy, so here’s to a bright lifetime ahead Neil, with so much to keep you happy. Happy 60th birthday Neil!Lots of love, Ron & Trish.

Kathy's Birthday Wish

Neil there are many memorable moments I have shared with you since meeting in July 2002.
At times we talk about some of those special highlights, The peach Champagne we drank at the Hotel Lewisiana on the Isle of Capri in Italy in October 2007, I am unsure if it was the ambience, surroudings or the Champagne, the moment however is one we reflect upon, another was at Resturant 21 in Sydney I had always wanted to go their however it was never on your agenda, until the week we left Sydney to move to Queensland we had the most amazing Lunch sitting at a table perched on the edge of the Resturant which offered us a spectacular view all over Sydney and the Harbour, the mood must have been right as that was the day you formally proposed marriage to me the start of an amazing journey one which I am sure we will enjoy for the rest of our lives together.
Neil you inherited 3 more children my son & 2 daughters they have welcomed you and are so pleased to have their mum settled. The girls you were not used to,in saying that you have managed to win them over as they have you and the grandsons what joy you have had with the little fellows, lets see a further look of delight when baby pink arrives in April & when it comes to opening my arms to another Son I could not be more proud of Sean and are so pleased in the way he has grown in all aspects of life we are truely blessed in the way our family has united.
Neil as your wife of just 4 years I would like to say I have had the most wonderful times with you we manage to smile and laugh together at most things we enjoy a Sav Blanc sitting on our Balcony at the end of those very long hard days we share working together,we have had fantastic adventures overseas and great picnics sitting on the headland in Manly.
You are my true love and I wish you a wonderful, memorable, joyfull & eventfull 60th Birthday & year ahead I look forward to many more celebrations with you and extended family.
With all my Love Kathyxxxxxxxxxx

The Birthday Lunch

The Family gathered at Neil's favourite Resturant Joesco at Sanctuary Cove on Sunday, we had a great time wonderful food, fine wine and some heart felt words from Sean we laughed and cryed as Sean spoke of some memorable times he has had with his Dad all in all a pretty good 60th Birthday bash.
